NEW MODULAR CLASSROOM BUILDING ADDITIONS | Pleasant View Elementary School
Pleasant View Elementary School District
Porterville, Tulare County
12,096 square feet
Completed 2016
As STEM and project-based learning becomes more popular in education, industrial-era classrooms with rows of desks led by the teacher in front become more disassociated with effective learning. Maker-spaces and work-based learning projects continues to grow and the demand for more flexibility grows along with it. Polished concrete flooring, exposed mechanical ducts, pendant lighting, acoustical ceiling clouds, and folding wall partitions provokes creativity and collaboration in this new learning environment. The traditional relocatable classrooms are being used less as this popular pedagogy continues to grow.
